The Vocus Group Ltd (ASX: VOC) share price has risen by 4.42% today after appointing a new Chairman.

Mr Bob Mansfield was previously the Deputy Chairman and Lead Independent Director. The Vocus Group Board have appointed him as Chairman with immediate effect.

It was only last week that former CEO Geoff Horth left the top role. Chairman Mr Vaughan Bowen also believed that now is the right time for him to resign and make way for further Board renewal. Mr Craig Farrow also elected to resign at the same time.

Newly appointed Vocus Group Chairman Bob Mansfield said, “Vaughan has been a remarkable figure within our company and the sector more broadly, initially as founding CEO of M2 Group, then as Executive Chairman at both M2 & Vocus and most recently as Vocus Chairman“.

Vocus Group said that Mr Bob Mansfield has been a member of the Vocus Group Board since 1 January 2017. He has served as Telstra Corporation Ltd’s (ASX: TLS) Chairman for four years and as the founding CEO of Optus.
