ASX 200 (XJO) To Open Lower, 3 ASX Shares To Watch

The ASX 200 (INDEXASX: XJO)(^AXJO) is expected to open lower today, the USA’s S&P 500 Index (.INX) rose by 0.09% on Friday.

In ASX sharemarket news, Suncorp Group Ltd (ASX: SUN) has announced the appointment of a new CEO and Managing Director.

The chosen person for the job is Steve Johnston who has worked for Suncorp for almost 14 years after joining in 2006.

Most recently he was the Acting Group CEO, and before that he was the Group CFO which included the rebuild after the GFC. Before that he was a manager at Telstra Corporation Ltd (ASX: TLS) and he has also held positions in the Queensland Government.

Financial technology business iSignthis Ltd (ASX: ISX) has announced its latest progress update this morning.

Gross processing turnover volume (GPTV) on an annualised basis exceeded $1.1 billion in August 2019 with volumes within the EU and Australian networks continue to grow in line with expectations with new business customers joining.

Business customer approvals at the end of August were up 28% to 270, up from 210 at June 2019.

Strike Energy Ltd (ASX: STX) has given an update about its Jaws pilot operations at the Southern Cooper Basin Gas Project.

The company said it has maintained the pressure in the Jaws wellbore at 250psi and closely monitored the reservoir response and pump performance.
