This episode was inspired by a question I stumbled across on Reddit (r/AusFinance) that was blowing up.

💸 Low cost ways our community has boosted their happiness

As part of my research for Buying Happiness, I asked you for some of the low-cost ways you boost your happiness. Here’s what you said:

  1. Meeting friends to play games in the park and then getting a coffee afterwards.
  2. Buying a book from an op shop and having time to read it
  3. Parkrun every Saturday with friends.
  4. Having drinks with the girls at my house.
  5. Buying a serve of hot chips!
  6. Walking my dog and see him happy sniffing all the things!
  7. A morning coffee from the cafe across the road on a weekend, Coffee is life.
  8. Spending time in my veggie garden with my 2 year old daughter.
  9. Having a pizza in family watching sunset at the beach.
  10. Going geocaching with my nephew.
  11. Friday night dinner with friends. We always eat in, taking it in turns to cook. We all look forward to hanging out on Friday nights in the comfort of our homes, no ubers no expensive drinks. It’s the highlight of my week
