The FIRE Movement: Enrol in Australia’s best (free) FIRE course

Dear Rask Australia reader,

Every day, thousands of Australians just like you are on a mission:

To retire on your own terms.

The ground-swell in the personal finance community is immense.

And it’s the reason why my co-host and colleague Kate Campbell created what I think is the best online money course we’ve ever created for Rask Education. You can click here to learn more and enrol in our FREE course today.

My definition of financial independence (FI) is the ability to spend time doing what I want, when I want, with who I want.

Like Warren Buffett, I’m not in a rush to retire. I skip to work each day.

(Full disclosure: it’s about 4 ‘skips’ from our family bedroom to my home office, where I spend 3 days per week).

I get to work with great people, learn from talented professionals, and educate families and investors to use their money better.

That said, I always want the optionality to retire early, and never feel bound by money.

Deep down I know the only way for me to offer the best life I can for myself and my family is to:

  1. Spend more on things that bring me happiness (holidays, events, coffee, etc.)
  2. Spend less on things that don’t bring us joy (mortgages, petrol, clothes & phone bills)
  3. Invest the difference for the long-run
  4. Repeat

How much do you need to retire?

The amount of money you need to retire comfortably will vary on your age, investing ability and lifestyle.

An ‘average’ Australian couple needs $62,000 per year to live a comfortable retirement today. That’s according to offical ASFA numbers.

However, with interest rates around zero, property prices very high and the rising cost of living, I would need at least $2,000,000 to retire comfortably.

(Please keep in mind, I’m well off retirement age so my pool of capital would have to last me 50+ years… I hope).

Again, what financial independence and a comfortable retirement means to me is probably very different to what it means for you.

Achieve your goals. Learn about the FIRE movement today.

I’ll end this email with a quote from Warren Buffett:

Kate and I did a podcast exploring FIRE and our new course. Click the image above to have a listen!

$50,000 per year in passive income from shares? Yes, please!

With interest rates UP, now could be one of the best times to start earning passive income from a portfolio. Imagine earning 4%, 5% — or more — in dividend passive income from the best shares, LICs, or ETFs… it’s like magic.

So how do the best investors do it?

Chief Investment Officer Owen Rask has just released his brand new passive income report. Owen has outlined 10 of his favourite ETFs and shares to watch, his rules for passive income investing, why he would buy ETFs before LICs and more.

You can INSTANTLY access Owen’s report for FREE by CLICKING HERE NOW and creating a 100% FREE Rask Account.

(Psst. By creating a free Rask account, you’ll also get access to 15+ online courses, 1,000+ podcasts, invites to events, a weekly value investing newsletter and more!)
