According to various reports, it’s estimated that an Australian couple needs $61,000 per year to retire comfortably. In a low-interest-rate environment, we think that type of income requires a careful amount of risk-taking (e.g. income from dividends, ETFs and managed funds, property, etc.) plus a strategy to minimise volatility and tax in the lead-up, during and post-retirement stage.
