Will A New Contract Build Confidence In Adelaide Brighton (ASX:ABC)?

Adelaide Brighton Ltd. (ASX:ABC) announced that it has signed a large new supply contract.

Adelaide Brighton Ltd. (ASX: ABC) announced that it has signed a large new supply contract.

Established in 1882, Adelaide Brighton is a leading building and construction materials producer. Adelaide Brighton is the second largest supplier of cement in Australia and the largest producer of lime.

Adelaide Brighton’s Big Contract

The construction materials giant said that it has signed a contract with OZ Minerals Limited (ASX: OZL) to continue supplying the OZ Minerals Prominent Hill Operation with cement.

In addition to the cement, Adelaide Brighton will also supply aggregate and sand from its Sellicks Hill Quarry and Price sand operation as well as auxiliary logistics services.

Adelaide Brighton CEO Nick Miller said: “The contract, which now also includes aggregate and sand supply for the Prominent Hill Operation, reflects the company’s competitive offering of a broad range of products in the South Australian market.”

At this stage in the housing cycle, I don’t think a construction materials business is the best idea. The two growth shares revealed below for free could be better long term ideas.
